I Can Belong

What do I do?
Where do I go?
Why can't I cry?
The tears just won't flow.
I start to sing,
Tears start to fall.
Why can't I see,
How they are one?
I close my eyes,
So no one will see
That I lost heart,
And I am not me.
Some things can't hide,
Some will still see.
Still I will try,
To keep it to me.
But if I have hope,
I can be strong.
I will be me,
And I can belong.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
