Love Lost
1 Love can be found,
Many have proven this true.
Love can be lost,
All know this tune.
5 Sometimes the love,
You thought would always last,
Proves to much for one,
Or for the other.
Can we really forgive?
10 When love stands without?
Can one really know,
What it was all about.
When I saw your face,
My heart once would overflow;
15 But now that warm embrace,
Fills my eyes with tears.
For what is it to love,
When all is left but fears?
I sit alone,
20 By my window in thought,
Thinking of the past,
And what I could live without.
But now I start to wonder,
What was I really to you?
25 You once claimed to love me,
But was that really true?
Sitting here by my window,
I remember the words you once said.
But you seem to have forgotten,
30 Now that the thoughts are dead.
So what is it to love,
When what was said is not true?
What is it to be,
When to be included you?
35 You are no longer here,
To stand by my side,
Instead you are there,
Looking in another's eye.
So this now is the end?
40 Of the lifelong love?
Tell me how,
A lifetime,
Can end love.
