If You Cry A Tear

If You Cry A Tear

IF YOU CRY A TEAR

If you cry a tear tonight

cry a tear for me,

if you pray a prayer tonight

pray a prayer for me.

For my prayers

are full of frozen tears

my heart is growing cold .

My dreams are full

of foolish fears

my soul is growing old .

This world

is making me cold

walls grow around my heart.

My dreams

on how life and love should be

have fallen all apart.

So if you cry

a tear tonight,

cry a tear for me.

Cry me

a soul felt tear

one to set me free.

This damned world

has made me

too cold to cry my own.

And if you

pray a prayer tonight

pray a prayer for me.

For I have no one

to prayer to,

and my spirit stands

all alone.

This was simple and well written it had a nice flow good write.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
