    Imprisonment

    Trapped in a cage

    Nowhere to go

    Can’t run

    Can’t hide

    Can’t even walk away

    Walls of darkness

    Surround you

    You take it in

    And shudder in despair

    Then you realize

    Who built the place

    Who put you in it

    Who locked it up

And who threw the key away

    You cannot live life

    To the fullest

    If you go through every

    Single day

    Methodically

    Doing the same thing

    Grab it and go

    Run for all you have

    Take what is rightfully yours

And flee to the high mountains

    Of safety

    The only way to know

    If you have taken life

    And lived it the way

    You’ve always wanted

    Is if your

    Happy

    So don’t let

    Somebody else

    Hold onto what’s yours

    With a leash

    This life is yours

Take it with you where you go

    With no rhyme or reason

    For you don’t need one

    To be happy

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
