Last Goodbye

Last Goodbye

I bear witness to the suns demise.

The sadness to this world is at an end.

When the day arrives I know there is

nothing I can take. Days are at an end

and our hearts still beat.

The grayest morning lets the rain carry me.

A sense of forgiveness rushes over me a feeling

I lament. I can't accept defeat or concede

my dreams. I've waited far to long for long goodbyes.

With a path paved and knowledge gained. A new found

faith and a battle won. Just for a second I look into my heart

Remembering all the the things I will leave behind.

Looking forward and crossing the line. Letting go

of tears and looking back for one last time for

one last goodbye.

Wow very expressive piece. Saying goodbye is never an easy thing. You pulled emotion into this well. I also like the sci fi armageddon flair to it. Great job!

Thank you very much I'm glad you enjoyed it =)

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
