learning slowly

learning slowly

deserving of love he is not
deserving of the fruit of love
he is not
enjoyment of life
he is not
benefits of caring
he refuses
friendships lending hand
he refuse
loves warm embrace
he ignores
living life
he is not
sharing life
he has forgotten
life will soon have passed him bye
as he will be forgotten

lasting impressions he leaves not
fossills of memories
whept away bye the sands of time
his shadow has grown short
his desires all but forgotten
the passion has escaped
the lust long gone
the sweet smell of love
forever a memory

feel not bad for him
these where his choices
his decisions
his regrets
his own mistakes
no guns to heads
no hands to fist
no barrel to swallow
a life chosen to ignore love
to refuse love
to discard love

his plan was simple
his walk  was tall
and he  carried a big stick
all has led him astray
the burden of what if is now his
the pain of not knowing is  his
the cards have been dealt
the hand acknowledged
the play has been made

times have changed
he has not
lives exchanged
his stomach knots
turned away are his eyes
the painful thoughts
returned
love was his
love was his to hold
love was his to enjoy
love was his
he squandered her
he left her behind
she set him free
free
  free again is he

she did not know what to do
she walked away
heart in hand
she looked to the sky
she looked to the ground
she looked straight ahead
and walked
and walked
he let her love
walk away
he let love
walk way

feel not bad for him
feel  not bad for her
feel not for the lost love
but for love
love
it was lost that day
as he is lost

this is a classic example of choices that needed to be made and either procrastination or rebellion allowed the choices to be idled along. i know because i lived it. an emotion that is common to humans and you made it unique to yourself. great job. i do wish the word play was a lil dazzle but thiswas still a profound work of art. great job

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
