    Let You Go

    I've made my peace
    With the non-existance of forever
My friend, you were, but not anymore.
It was not enough, all this love
    That I once carried -
Now a burden high on my shoulders.
    Please lie to me
    Say you never wanted me!
So that I can let you go!

Why did you hold me like I was yours
    A daughter, I wasn't meant to be
I swear, I swear I would have called you
    Mother.
But you're no better than a bad memory
Can I scream the hate I breathe?
Though the hate is no bigger than a lie.
But I know that you can lie to me!
Please say you never wanted me!
So that I can let you go!

    This is really moving.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
