    Purple Flowers

    Pretty hanging purple flowers
This is all I'll ever be

Reminders of the pain that's past
The horror that is to come

    Stuck, attached to dirty branches
    Dehydration, damaged soil

I am this pretty purple flower
When will the wind take me away

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
