Tricks and Lies and Such
Create a story to make me do
Things I know can't, but could or should be true.
All it takes is a lie from me to see what should be, you see?
A lie, a trick, all for the betterment of me.
Truth is too easy a loss to lose to make me better,
No, but for it come in the form of a letter.
May not be my first choice or even my desire,
But the dreams, oh the dreams, my dreams when I retire.
Lie to me, lie to me, make it seem I need
What my common sense tells me, this I do not heed.
Take my money, my life, take whatever you need
What's left to survive is all I need for the deed.
Hey, free is not an option when I can pay
Or just give, give, give it all away.
This life is mine to waste if I must
Before I can learn it's me to trust.
Keep your tricks and lies and such
Listening will provide me with just as much.
