Memorize
While growing up, we have no clue
The reasons we’re made to go to school;
We’re taught the simple Golden Rule
“Do unto others as you’d have them do unto you!”
We’re taught to read, we learn to write
To recognize words by sight;
We memorize then recite
Things That Go Bump in the Night.
We memorize the alphabet
In hopes of being Teacher’s Pet;
If unkind to kids just met
A corner chair, ‘time-out’ we set.
We learn what’s kind, good and bad
What makes us happy, angry and sad;
The loving care we always had
Firm guiding hands of Mom or Dad.
We live each day without a care
Play silly games like Truth or Dare;
When bedtime comes we say our prayer
And hug so close, dear Teddy Bear.
The games we learn become a tool
We use at home, work or school;
We memorized the Golden Rule
“Do unto others as you’d have them do unto you!”

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser;
teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
