    The Game

    The game continued.

    It was an exciting game,
    a crowd pleasing game.

    It was so stimulating,
    adrenaline rushing,
    heart pounding.

    It produced a magnetic field,
    raising fans to their feet,
    rousing the senses,
    watching with intenseness.

It was exhausting for the fans,
    a marathon of loyalty,
    so exhilarating,
    cheering until hoarse,
    deafening to hear.

It became the game of all games,
    the best of all playoffs,
    with monumental performances,
    an unforgettable game,
    a remarkable moment
    as the last buzzer sounded.

And also that every man should eat and drink,
and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God.
    Ecclesiastes 3:13

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
