    Missing You (Grandpa)

    I know you're gone
And now in a better place
I can't help but miss you
    You're body's gone now without a trace.

I'm sorry you were in so much pain
It had lasted a long while
I'm happy that you're not suffering now
I can't believe you went out in that style.

    I miss you, grandpa.
    I know I shouldn't cry but I do
I feel both sad and glad for this
There's nothing I would have changed about you.

I love you and will always miss you
You are in my heart and soul
Now you're with God and probably still being stubborn
But, grandpa, your death has taken it's toll.

    The family misses you dearly
    Everyone is keeping grandma busy
She cries and so do the rest
You'll be looking down and you will see.

This is warm and heartfelt; this is the kind of love that lasts forever. I never knew my grandfather, my grandmother filled both roles. I'll never forget the day she died and the last words she uttered. She said; “I’m tired and I have to go now but I'll always be with you in spirit." Your poem is well written and should be recognized. LOL, BDC.

I rather enjoyed this poem. It should be rated much higher! Maybe those whom have not lost loved ones have read it. Good luck with your writing!

This is almost exactly how I felt when my Nana (Grandma) died.

I think rating 4.7 is all wrong and i give a 10! Is very good i thought

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
