naptime
The rain drops
falling on a willow
hanging over a bed of dirt
I'm now to go to sleep
-- never to rise such a slumber eternal--
The rain falls like tears
and my bed is ready
Now I must lay myself into darkness
forever gone, from this world, into the next
I only weep inside as I become one with the earth
I'm comfortable, deeply asleep
unable to hear those call for me and
unable to hear the roses fall upon my bed
laid under a quilt of green
I'm ready to sleep now until the end of eternity.
