    Pain

    It’s a never ending cycle
    Too constant for a moment’s peace
    Engulfing every bit of conscious thought
    Enslaving happiness to an unbreakable prison 

    One hurt flows into another
    A circle forever moving, forever piercing
    Like eternal darkness, there is no light
    Hence in darkness this pain must lie 

    Eating at the very core it consumes
    Shredding the flesh on the inside
    Scarring the flesh to be seen
    Crushing the heart without sympathy 

    Swallow and forget, leaving to lie beneath
    Suppressing desperate cries for help
    Battling the demons of change within
    Uncertainties ahead in an uncertain existence
