Prayer of a Broken Heart
Prayer of a Broken HeartSittin in this rocking chair takin in the mornin air
Here come the tears Lord quiet these fears
Lost in this darkness no hope I find
Lord lift me out Your Spirit set about
I stumble around
When will you my soul be found
My life despairs I need repair
Will suffering end
my spirit will You mend
It’s broken and bruised in tatters and torn
Joy is empty sorrow is full
My eyes ever wet Lord how I’ve wept
My soul’s heavy laden with cruel tribulations
Please come share these burdens I bear
Carry me along till I be strong
Lend to me Your gentle hand and teach me Lord
That I may stand
In each new precious day that dawns
I will look to You O Lord to guide my steps
To lead me on till we get home.
Amen.
