The Coming Winds
The Coming WindsThe north wind came without opposition
and held the earth in his sudden embrace
He silenced the land with his icy stare
entranced it ’neath his frosty gaze
In crystal splendor all stood halt
‘cept the quiet deep that gently flows
while the shallow waters froze
The north wind spoke without opposition
and held the earth in his blustery sway
He stilled the land with his icy breath
and veiled it ’neath his frosty haze
In crystal splendor all fell halt
‘cept the quiet deep that gently flows
while the shallow waters froze
The south wind came without opposition
and soothed the earth in his warm embrace
He healed the land with his gentle touch
and clothed her new in living colour
In pristine wonder she shall sing
with the quiet deep that gently flows.
