Questions From You

Smother the lights,
dull the blades
I’m not going to be blinded;
ever again.
There are some days,
in some places.
It only makes me think
of you, no matter, who’s there.
You tend to take every word
I speak
with a grain of salt.
Now hearing you articulate,
feels like a grit of sand;
between my teeth.
I’m sorry I left you alone
with your questions.
Same old episode playing;
for me.
Just another association
from the past.
Reality check.
We both knew it was
never going to last.
