Teasel
exhaling subtle choruses
of perfumes
the knit and purl blooms
of lavender lilacs.
iridescent eyes,
bright ochreous gems
my cat, Teasel, hidden
in the rib cage
of the bush.
the lilacs and Irish roses
punctuate the green drapes
of the cedars bordering
the property in the background,
yet it's the eyes
like headlights at night
that catch my attention.
