The Game
The Game
A "certainty" is rarely that no matter what you hear
A "sure thing" is about the same don't bank on it my dear
But life's a gamble that's a fact so why not roll the dice
The odds are all against you if you sit out on the sides
Sometimes you win sometimes you lose, it's all part of The Game
And 'wishing' that you took a shot leaves only you to blame
Winning isn't everything and losing helps you learn
With every lesson you get through, another win you earn
For every day be grateful, you get to play one more
Another opportunity has showed up at your door
And through the years experience will help you pass each test
And every day that passes you'll remember as life's best
Today you woke up breathing, a blessing and a chance
To make some contribution, and join in with the dance
To bring the world some laughter, and leave it with less pain
To know the joy of giving, without the want of gain
To leave the world a better place, a chance to often passed
Is one that you should always treat as if it were your last
And when The Game is over, and all is said and done
You will rest in peace because, by playing fair you've won
