The Shore
Feeling alone
Looking out the door
Intricate spiderwebs
Make their way across my dusty floor
Dust fills the air
I'm not sure where it comes from
From my horrid wombs
Or from my hair, my golden brown locks
Leaving scattered rain
Across my windowsill
It comes in schools
Like fish and I am the ocean, my mind is a sea
It swims like an athlete
Faster and faster
And can hold it's breath longer
Than any human, any animal, any spirit
The lover in my dreams
The lover who caressed my thighs
Gently like waves
That you find only in the bath, a lover's hand washing you
As you gently kick and squirm
Waiting to be ignited
Waiting for that hand
To cleanse you of the dust
I still lay in water, waiting
For that fine, smooth hand
To gently caress
Even though I know I will never give it the chance
To cleanse my shore
Because a part of me knows it's wrong
Because a part of me wants to be controlled
Because a part of me wants to please, not be pleased
Every sad song on the radio
Every torch set on the fire
By a voice as smooth as velvet
Still will keep me purring like an aged kitten
Looking out the door
Intricate spiderwebs
Make their way across my dusty floor
Dust fills the air
I'm not sure where it comes from
From my horrid wombs
Or from my hair, my golden brown locks
Leaving scattered rain
Across my windowsill
It comes in schools
Like fish and I am the ocean, my mind is a sea
It swims like an athlete
Faster and faster
And can hold it's breath longer
Than any human, any animal, any spirit
The lover in my dreams
The lover who caressed my thighs
Gently like waves
That you find only in the bath, a lover's hand washing you
As you gently kick and squirm
Waiting to be ignited
Waiting for that hand
To cleanse you of the dust
I still lay in water, waiting
For that fine, smooth hand
To gently caress
Even though I know I will never give it the chance
To cleanse my shore
Because a part of me knows it's wrong
Because a part of me wants to be controlled
Because a part of me wants to please, not be pleased
Every sad song on the radio
Every torch set on the fire
By a voice as smooth as velvet
Still will keep me purring like an aged kitten
