    The Storm
    Lightning strikes from outstretched hands
    Invading the dark corners of my mind
    Adding more grief to aggravate my sorrow

    Silence fills in behind the thunderous crashes
    Of a suffocating rage that never quiets
    Like soil closing over my grave

    Lost in an overwhelming sea of emotions
    Drowning in a past of whispered lies
    Choking on waves of relentless tears

    Lying hidden within the folds of crimson colored gown
    Embroidered with smoke and ash
    I shine beneath the cracks in the evening sky.

    I like how this poem keeps me adrift in metaphors, never letting me touch the ground, keeping me soaring among feelings of expressiveness.

    dark, yet I sense the presence of a coming light. and with light, there is hope. very nice young lady. i always enjoy your poetry, whether they're dark, love, aor funny. you are incredibly talented.
