Poem Commentary

Importance of self worth through work.

Working Man

Every day he wakes up with a smile on his face
the working man understand that he makes no such haste
working through dreams and unchanting sites
the working man dreams for his children at night

The mornings are clear with no troubled hesitation
walking out of his house with much dreams and aspirations
for the day begins slow to a calmness and rest
knowing what he's doing not for him makes him feel blest

The challenges which come are like changes of season
As each passing month his work brings him much meaning
His work puts the presents and warms up his kids
His work brings him joy as he pays for the his bills

Understanding that life brings unexpected results
each and every day no one knows what shall come
for only the truth and the heart which can take
his work is for him not a joke or a break

Life as it goes and his kids which shall grow
he looks back on his work and realizes his growth
Nothing more nothing less he feels happy at best
for his job was what kept a life he drempt up in bed

Sounds like something Merl Haggard sang......"working man blues" You put it in a nutshell......men are dedicated to their home and family, and will toil til they're called home....................gogant

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
