    A New Day Begins

    A New Day Begins
I didn't know what to expect or what to hope for,
I only knew my heart told me to walk thru the door.
I had thought my life would end in a mess,
But to my surprise, it may turn out for the best.
You know how sometimes the air just has to be clear?
How you have to be able to breathe from ear to ear.
How when the air is clean, your lungs yearn for a deep breath.
You need it to clear the trappings of boredom even death.
Today my air has been cleared and I am filled with new life.
I can see thru the dark mist, even without a light.
As if a spring shower has brought new life and hope,
My day is budding with freshness and new growth
My world is looking bright and filled with promise once more.
And it is because; I made the choice to open the door.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
