    Scars of Love

    Scars of Love
A chance meeting of hearts lonely and sad.
Wounded and hurt, heart in hand.
A spark of love shared for a brief time,
    lonely hearts mending, bodies entwined.

Lifes bitter events, scars to the soul.
    Hearts fighting desperately for control.
words spoken without thought and care,
rending to the heart yet another tear.

Again we see hearts walking away,
hoping for yet another, love someday.
Looking not back, no tears shed.
Passion and love once again dead.

Each heart swearing never again will it be.
Each wearing scars for all to see.
    Lonely hearts sad and confused.
This was the parting of me and you.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
