    Alone at last

    finally friends depart
    leaving us under the stars
    alone at last
    fire glowing
    reflecting in your eyes
    pulling you close
    wrapping you in
    my warm blanket
    you sigh
    we are content
    I breathe on your nape
    hot air rushing
    you lean back
    exposing yourself to me
    my hands find
    familiar territory
    you turn to me
    for a kiss
    gently pulling my hair
    our lips part
    and you stand
    reaching out your hand
    with a smile that has
    two meanings
    I gladly follow

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
