Linger

Linger

Your smell still lingers
in my bed as I wake
reminding me of a
a fire that burned here last night
burying my face in your pillow
I inhale the loveliest fragrance
a mixture of salty and sweet
the heavenly sounds
of your moans replay
in my ears
a picture begins to form
you laying naked in my bed
the fire from the fireplace
playing on your skin
how I love to look at you
smiling up at me
breathing in your essence
I lean in for a kiss
you rise to meet it
My memories so real
when I open my eyes
I can still see you there
Hurry home love
I will keep the fire burning

Thanks, for the kind words. I really feel the poems as well as write them I am glad you liked it

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
