Wintergreen

Wintergreen

you glide down the stairs
dress flowing behind
wintergreen the color
my eyes can't look away
your beauty is divine
alabaster skin
so soft to the touch
my mind races
back to our rendezvous
in the quiet hours
alone in your room
the forbidden love
society dictates
the rules
not all love allowed
you catch my eye
I catch my breath
we will always have
last night my love
I watch you dancing
ever searching for me
in the crowd
standing  in the shadow
waiting for nights end
you leave tomorrow
for worlds unknown
my memory will be filled
with the images of your
wintergreen gown
dyed to match your eyes
laying at your feet
