Chasing Shadows

Chasing Shadows

This poem was the inspiration for my
username....and it's one of my personal
favorites. It was written in a fit of
nostalgia about my college years.

Chasing Shadows

Deep into the north
across the darkened orb
On into night
Scattered silhouettes
sifted by the lattice

Unspoken words flutter
into the moonswept abyss
Stardust ascends
carried by the wind

Whispered desires
endless resonings
Cast aside, yet
brought in from the rain

Tales of the seasons
of those yet to come
swaying closer still
to an answer

Smiling, sadly
at a recollection
Chasing shadows of times lost
and memories forgotten.
