    Poem Commentary

    I have enjoyed reading many of the writes here on OP....and sometime back me and another poet ( ForeverPoet ) began a banter back and forth after reading and commenting on each other's writes ....He made me laugh and smile....and at times helped me to forget about whatever I was going through...I was grateful for his friendship.....it was so much fun........ I simply wanted to share it with others....maybe it will inspire others to reach out and do the same....or at the very least....reach out more and enjoy the views of others.....BTW....He wrote his version off the cuff of one of our banters in a matter of minutes....with the gauntlet dropped....I had no choice but to attempt to do the same....Lol...Please Enjoy

    A Cher N ForeverPoet....Monologue
    I sit here trying oh so hard Not to bite my tongue 
    I shuffle the deck, and choose a card 
    what I’ve dealt, is so much fun 
    ~ 
    Behind the scenes, the camera eyes 
    Reflect the lights within her 
    Choosing instead not to appear 
    But to be a sweet director 
    ~ 
    Like a comedy of errors 
    and a  tragedy of verse 
    We enter this world naked 
    And yet hide it, like a curse 
    ~ 
    Taking turns, with the dice we've tossed 
    As if by chance two paths should cross 
    The conversations enjoyed, are never lost 
    The smiling faces, will melt the frost 
    ~ 
    Tit for tat, is what we share 
    Quid pro quo, oh,... do we dare 
    With every smile, whether foul, or fair 
    The garden blossoms, a friendship rare. 
    ~ 
    ~~~xxx~~~ooo~~~xxx~~~ 
    The fun begins the birds all sing… and players take their mark 
    Destiny calls along the way… a fire has now been sparked 
    Through the lens a slow dance begins… cautious along the way 
    A dip.. a swing.. in loving eyes… the director shall have no say 
    A laugh a smile n words comply…. the soul has now been bared 
    Bewitched n trapped he lightly laughs…. his heart will not be spared 
    Ships in the night collide at sea…. and words begin to simmer 
    The spark in eyes.. hands hide a smile.. you’ve now become her dinner 
    You give… she lives… so much at stake…. the heart beats out a song 
    The dye is cast the song must last…. this love it can’t be wrong 
    The cost of sighs….  across the miles…… all time begins to slow 
    Could this be… that he and she…. Shall have more  love to grow 
    Time will tell if lovers dwell…. and true friendship has rung true 
    A moment in time a word a rhyme…..the ball now turns to you

    Unbelieveably awesome piece!! You guys hit the nail on the head and destroyed it! Two very different deliveries yet they come together to create a union of rhythm and poetic grace!! Great job, both of you!
