Darkest Darkness
This darkness swallows us,
never lifting more than minutes.
We pretend to be happy,
when really we feel nothing,
taste nothing but darkness.
No one understands us,
not one knows what we mean.
We walk alone together,
just us two in the dark.
Side by side we travel,
never really going anywhere,
but traveling none the less.
Life seems so empty,
devoid of color and light.
What we do feel is tainted,
by a darkness so strong,
it stalks us always.
Will it always be this way?
Will we break free?
Or will it always be just us?
Alone together in the darkness.
never lifting more than minutes.
We pretend to be happy,
when really we feel nothing,
taste nothing but darkness.
No one understands us,
not one knows what we mean.
We walk alone together,
just us two in the dark.
Side by side we travel,
never really going anywhere,
but traveling none the less.
Life seems so empty,
devoid of color and light.
What we do feel is tainted,
by a darkness so strong,
it stalks us always.
Will it always be this way?
Will we break free?
Or will it always be just us?
Alone together in the darkness.
