Replay
The crowded room is empty now,
everyone has gone away again.
Silence echos back at me,
taunting me with its stillness.
Daring me to scream out,
to stop the silent torture.
But fear holds me back,
in the darkest place possible.
I lay my head down,
and let sleep take me.
Begging for just one night,
that a nightmare won't disturb.
Images flit through my brain,
faster than a single thought.
Melding together to horrify me,
they finally take shape.
I am simply alone again,
in a room gone empty.
Right back where I started,
I can't tell which is reality.
Seemingly all an endless cycle,
of darkness and silence replayed.
