    DEATH BY LIFE

     What punishment best fits us for all our sins,
    Why try to end it all when you stop to think about it,
    We have all been sentenced, This life, This torture,
    The enduring pain of the eternal death, Or life,
    To live a life that is not forgiving in a world,
    Where survival is measured, Not in years, But seconds,
    Living is dying, Dying is life, Life is never complete,
    We die to soon too  understand why?
    There is no way out, No way around it,
    We live, We die some say to a certain tempo,
    Our heart beats, It has rhythm, It has a life,
    It beats fast, Slow, Or sometimes,  Not at all,
    So here we are, Sentenced to a life, With out parole,
    Sentenced to death...By life...............................

    I'll not agree life is torture, though it may be present in most every one. We are born, full of life and growth, marked for deaths inevitable arrival. I agree some people live in terrible circumstances, and for some of these, it is a matter of reaping and sowing, whether by individual choice or collective cultural tradition. I hope to face death in a way that honors God, making an eternal impact for hope. applause building!!

    Yes! Death is life and life is death, and again and not again. Sin is only for those who believe in it—myself, i am a non-believer. This is deep, heavy, and filled with internal wisdom. bravo!!!!!

    Outstanding!! You paint such a great picture in the mind of this reader. I especially was enamoured to the last stanza that reads: "So here we are, Sentenced to death, With out parole,Sentenced to death by life" BRAVO!!!! 10 without reservation.

    Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
