Poem Commentary

This is the first poem i ever wrote. I was in my second year of high school and was still trying to get comfortable in my own skin

Differences

A young girl fighting with who she is
Her life is an unmagical bliss
With scars on her wrist
Constant blows of this
    that and the other
Will she ever pass this shit
Found out she was gay
But in the mist of that day
she cried
Confused by what they say
    when you
      a young female
        is gay
A relationship with to much to handle
A secret scandle
Lost so much shit that theres to much shit on her mantel
A baby to watch and a woman to be
The world got big
" Oh shit is this me? "
Words she said because it's to dark, to dark to see
Could this be?
A girl with dreams is dying
To hard to wake up and flee
Arguements is all she hears
Loves not fear
   or so she thought
Love has steared, steared her wrong
Hiding herself behind soft tears
   not outside but in
What to say and what to do
Try to be happy or try to be true
   true to yourself
Open her eyes of blue
or keep them shut and wonder
" What do I do? "
How does she ask
   ask for help
She is scared to run but wants to remove the mask
So hard to imagine how hard is a simple task
She want first but gets only last
Harmed and unwanted thats what she learned from her past
Nothing last
But she is stuck
Stuck like Chuck
Who is Chuck
   we never know
She wants a life
Where she doen't have to duck
  duck and cover
Close to her mother
And loves memories of her grandmother
How does she breath?
How does she leave?
Would all your answers change if i told you she was me?

I like this one!! I hope you dont really care what people think about you, you shouldn't...so what...thats none of anyone else's business but your own!!! if you lived your live wondering what other people thought you might never appreciate yourself when you really need it!!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
