    Poem Commentary

Everyone has a story and I believe that the only real truth lies within someones eyes

    What Do You See?

What do you see when you look into my eyes
An innocient child sitting in a field catching fire flies
The perfect childrens doll that everyone always buys
A child sitting in a dark room silented by mutated cries
My body like a zombie roaming where the dead lies
The number one person who tells you when everyone dies
What exactly do you see when you look into my eyes?

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
