What is a family?

Is it just having a mother and father or sister and brother

Or is it more?

A family is a unit that works together, plays together

and prays together,

A family will always be there in your time of need

With unconditional love and support.

But a family can be people or friends who are close too you

My family not only consists of the traditional family members…

It extends to all those who share my love and passion

 for a common goal

They too are also my family

I see no race, color or creed only people who are in need,

When we open our hearts and minds to all people

Our family can extend around the world

We all have ancestors that come from many parts of the world

They left their homeland in search of a better place

 To raise their family

Regardless of religion or race we all seek a better place

Where love for the human race has no face.

When you remove our skin and hair we are nothing more

But our skeletal remains

Made up of muscles, bones, tendons, fibers and veins

We all have a heart and brain

So I ask you now… are we all not the same?

These are the people that are my kin regardless of their skin…

But now that we don’t have our skin

Can you tell which ones are kin… If not

Are we not one Family?
