    Can you relate?

    Hidden Truths

    Hidden Truths

    By,

    Clarence Marsh

I’ve had many friends in my life

I have been blessed with a loving family.

My children are happy and healthy

So why then am I so alone?

My friends have been there in my time of need

But what they don’t see is my real pain

It’s the pain of being alone and no one to love

    Or be loved in return

They see my outer shell which appears happy and warm

But inside there’s a storm of sadness

All I seek is someone who will love me for who I am

Not for what I can provide in material things.

    Love can’t be bought

It can only be felt in one’s heart

So I say to you will you be my friend, lover and compassionate other

Or will I just lie here and suffer.

Wellll, do you have an answer to your question at this later date? Just curious... I like this piece for what it is, sorry that you have ever had to feel this empty. You have so much to offer as a person, it's hard to believe some smart woman hasn't rope tied you and won't let you leave the house! Your writing hits a nerve, like the last nerve a person has, it invokes self inventory of one's own situations. Never stop gracing the paper with your feelings, yours is a voice that deserves to be shared.

Clarence, This is a very deep poem full of emotion. At times in my life I've felt the same way and believe me when I say, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and things always have a way of working themselves out. What a beautiful poem this is. I enjoyed reading it very much.

Thanks! I believe they do have a way of working out, but figuring it out sometimes is difficult.

This sounds like a person who is at war with themselves or obviously missing something crucial in there life, you can take it from many different angles, its full of despair hidden by assumed satisfactions

Wouldn't it be preferred if we could ask everyone that was struck an interest in us that precise question, recieve an answer and be able to trust and have well placed faith that whatever thier answer was, was truthful and accurate!? + or - ... Wah'do

It would be very nice if that where true, but reality tells us adifferent story. Thanks for you comments.
