    Here Today and Gone Tomorrow

My eyes fixed on the lights flickering in the distance.
Flames that consume and leaves nothing behind.
Lights and screams of a different kind.
    Shots echo in the wind.
Penetrating my mind raising my skin.
Pools of blood darker than wine.
Stained on the pavement for a some time
    Here today and gone tomorrow
Life full of joy and unforgetable sorrow.
In a babys cry I am reminded once again.
    That with birth life begins.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
