    I Cry

I cry for the ones who have no voice
I cry for the ones who have no choice
They didn't ask to be born addicted
So why are they the ones being convicted
I cry for the ones who just can't escape
I cry for the ones who have been raped
When they are down people just kick them
You got to remember they are the victim
I cry for the ones who struggle day by day
I cry for the ones who work for no pay
Why do they send money over seas
When there are people here eating
    government cheese
I cry for the ones who need a better way
I cry for the ones who don't know what to say
Home of the brave, Land of the free
Now who will cry for me

Awesome rhyme scheme patterning! You got it right here. I'm not fussy on the topic but that's personal choice, not a critique. The only thing I'd change is the last line. Too short, doesn't fit with the other line lengths. I will cry for you but only if you aren't going to use it as an excuse not to change your life. We have, in my opinion, more power to change things that we think.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
