    • I did not win the contest. But I am still in high hopes and entering a review board. :) Wish me luck!

    Let Me Speak.

    You call me weak,

    And claim I'm overpowered.

    Like I'm minor or bleak,

    Hurt is being showered.

You treat me as if I'm worthless,

    Like I'm a nobody.

    I have beliefs.

    I have opinions.

    Give me my time,

    Let me speak

    Whatever is on my mind.

    Never call me weak.

    I speak honesty,

    Do you think I'm lying?

I dare you to find deception

    In my sincerity!

    Let me speak,

    Give me my time.

I haven't had this chance before,

    So, why give up now?

    I will speak me mind,

I'll be me and be unique.

    I'll stand up to mankind!

    But, never call me weak.

Everyone has the right to voice their concern and that freedom truly is captured in your self-conscious, yet defiant work.

Thanks, I actually performed this in a poetry slam in middle school.
