Looking Out the Window

The patter of rain rants all day
Gloomy mist beyond the view
Blurs the advancement's grayish hue
Creating a ruse and thus deceiving
What the eyes think they're perceiving.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
