    • Very excited and very grateful. My son Michael will be coming back to American soil in about 12 days I want to thank all of you for your prayers and well wishes and strength.

    Moon Dance

The soft glow of violet hovers on the horizon,
    The Sun's last attempt
    shines through wisps of clouds
who have gathered to tell the Moon
    About the days activities.
The sky darkens and begins to twinkle,
Each star having a secret to share
And wink it to the next.
    *
    But what is this?
    The Moon is late!
    Black tie and tails,
    He makes his entrance,
Stopping briefly just above the horizon
For us to notice and admire.
    He begins his ascent,
Climbing as if a stairway were at his feet.
The Stars dance with him across the sky,
Delighted to be his partners in this waltz.
    *
They spin and dip and surround him,
    Giggling like schoolgirls,
Each glowing her best for him.
    Their time together is short.
As the first mention of morning
    Begins in the eastern sky,
He reluctantly bids them all farewell,
    Bows
And sinks slowly into the forest screen,
Vowing to join them once again come nightfall.

Ah, the cosmic dance of the night time players... Ironic sometimes, that we too often take it all for granted it's just out there, and don't find the time, or feel the need to walk out and watch a little bit of it every night... Lost inspirations, I think...

This is a poem that is very well put together IMHO! I really enjoyed this and could tell that you spent a lot of work on it. I loved the imagery and the movement through the verses. Excellent work! Thanks!

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
