    • Just posted a poem titled "As I grow older".

    Poem Commentary

I am a retired school teacher. I coached Basketball and baseball.
One of my graduating students made millions of dollars and helped me build a 3 million dollar field. He hired me to take care of it for as long as I want.

    My Work

    Retired from teaching
    I'm a groundskeeper now
    i gave up the books
    for a tractor and plow
I work cutting grass and and mulching the dirt
The work is back breaking and sometimes I hurt
But It is all worth it, it's rewarding though hard
A unique baseball field they call it my yard
To be continued when I start my next occupation

A great story of finding one's niche in life after departing one's niche in life.

Hampton: You are so right. I love to work outdoors and be my own boss. I',m off in the winter and relax and watch it snow. Thank you for your comment. I enjoy your poems and classic stories.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
