    • Just posted a poem titled "As I grow older".

    repentance

    Repentance

No mortal is perfect, not even I

I may never be, as hard as I try

My only sin is not my sin at all

It’s my neighbor, my brother, who should take the fall

When someone offends me I can never forgive

Their sin is my master for as long as I live

Because I’m offended my pride takes control

Of my life, my joy, and my very soul

It’s not fair that they sin, repent and come clean

While I harbor feelings, become hateful and mean

If there is to be justice, I guess it will be

That when they’re in heaven, they can’t offend me

For below I will be, it’s where I will live

Oh I pray my new master will let me forgive

Love it. It is a message to us all that we can and need to forgive. It only hurts us when we can't. Right?

Thank you for your comment. My poem came out of my own failings. We must overcome our weaknesses

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
