pride
While lost in dark and in a fogA man discovered a puppy dog
Put on a leash he kept it near
Soon his love, it was so dear
At first fed scraps ever so small
Puppies hardly require anything at all
His appetite increased, desiring more to eat
Larger he grew, his body, his head and his feet
Now a dog he was out of control
He ate the leash, the man, and his very soul
This little puppy was the man’s ego inside
Were he grew and grew into a dog named pride
