    "Green Eyes, My Friend"

    “Green Eyes, My Friend”

We live in a world so different
I am sunny brown and you are lily white
    Your eyes are jealous green
    Mine is sorrowful black

    Seas, rivers, plains and mountains
    Stands mightily between us
I have endured a lot of hot summers
You are blooming like a new born spring

The sun rises in your youth
My moon light have grown old in the clouds
    You are building your dreams
I am waiting to meet our Savior

    Green eyes, my friend
Soul, heart and mind we can be one
In our life time and beyond
I desire not even to hold your hands

    Smiles of youth
    Giggles of innocence
Happy jokes and tears of gladness
You brought my way, it brighten my day

    Torch of wisdom
I will hold in my hands
    To light your path
Keeping you always safe and upright

    Past storm of worries
    Blown by blissful hurricane
Crown of peace reigned in your mind
Golden joy now lives in your heart

    The gloomy look of sadness
    Masking your sweet angelic face
Washed away by seas of laughter
Wished that you will sing a song of joy forever

I wish you every little thing
And all the best in your life
    Peace, success, happiness and more
All for you, green eyes, my friend

The first stanza I love it, your eyes are jealous green, mine is sorrowful black. That's realistic and authentic. Again, the flow of lines is smooth like velvet, well constructed too. A 10+

I really appreciate your taking time to read my poems. Your words are very encouraging and inspiring. Thank you so much.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
