    "POETS ARE NOT POETS"

    “POETS ARE NOT POETS”

    Poets are not poets

When all his poems are not shared

Placed in safety vaults, to go with his grave

    Poets are not poets

Though all his poems are all shared

As no one cares to read his works

    Poets are not poets

When, like production lines, he mass produces poems

Going for quantity, foregoing message and quality

    Poets are poets

As he cares not if no one read his works

So long as he puts life and heart to each word and lines he wrote

    Poets are poets

When he cannot resist the urge to write

In traffic, tired, sleepy or in a honeymoon

    Poets are poets

Simply not by sensibly arranging words, phrases and sentences

Certainly a theme exist design for desired target audience

    Great poets are poets

    Whose brilliant creation and masterpieces

Are embraced by the readers that multiplies to a thousand fold

    Great poets are poets

Whose poems phrases and lines are not only widely read and remembered

It breathed life that lived infinitely from one generation to the other

    Great poets are poets

Whose genius minds creates multitudes of masterpieces

Each one is distinctly different, better and special

The writer simply aspires to be a poet

Whose simple happiness is to write humble poem

To encourage and inspire, to bring joy and or knowledge to others

Indeed the simplest wish of the writer

Is for the accomplished poets to give him pointers

So that he can write poems that are worthy to be read

The writer may not succeed to be a poet

Nor he dreamed to be great

Yet he will write until his death

Long life I wish to all poets

May the living spirit of a true poet to live in us all

May we create pieces that knows no death

Pieces of poems with nine lives to live

Sincerely, I am very thankful for your taking time to read my pieces. I am new at the site and your comments are very encouraging. You are very supportive, indeed.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
