"Successful Slaves"

“SUCCESSFUL SLAVES”
(The choice is yours, not mine)

Secret of success so many stories told in many ways

Road to success in multitude variant ways

Some roads are long and bumpy

Others are short and easy

No road at all for

Many

Success

Luck or hard work

Pain and glory or both

Path may be easy, difficult or risky

Lotto, gambling’s, business and inheritance

Love, politics, careers, sports or underworld means

To so many, success comes through slavery as a recipe

Most successful persons come to think of it

Becoming a slave is a similar story

Most of them, yes, are slaves

Slaves of good

Habits

My habits

My master so powerful

In peoples’ lives, habits are dictators and tyrants

Drinker, gambler, chain smoker, laziness, womanizer

Workaholic, early riser, book worm, studious, attention to details

In our journey to success, habits, good or bad, are determinant factors

Just like eating peanuts, certainly, to develop good habits is not that easy

Trial and error, no way, tried and tested ingredients is right all the way

Mixed burning desire, sheer determination and rigid discipline

Flavored with ability to stay focus in the right direction

Plus the divine guidance of our Great Chef

Our Creator

Yes

Indeed, we are free

Though in habits, freeman is nobody

Be wise, be choosy, mannerism or otherwise

Refuse bad habits, go for good habits is my advocacy

It is all right, no risk, all gain. The choice is yours not mine. Isn’t it?

this poem is exceptionaly well thought out and beautifuly put together, i enjoyed the structure you decided to use here ,it gives the feeling and illusion of an infinate hour glass ,alowing the readers to understand the habits never end.The way you manipulate the words to get the point across is awsome .....I really enjoyed this thank you for sharing this work of poetic art

'...comes through slavery as a recipe..' very thought provoking and creative. I love how the words form a shape in the poem. It adds additional depth.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
