Rhythm of Time
I woke up this morning, and the sun was shining in.
Try to roll over, but it grabbed me, and said begin.
Rolled out of bed, and held my head up in the air.
Looked around the room, for something I could wear.
Into the shower like a man posessed by dirt.
Combed my hair, wiped my brow, put my shirt on, put up the towel.
Running late, gotta go, somethings missing; I don't know
Nervous breakdown, it could be so, are listening, to my soul.
Coffee perking, drippin on,creating rhythm, in my home.
Clock is tickin, in my bones, gives me feelings, I'm alone.
Are you listenin, to the score,as I tell ya, so much more.
We are rockin, to the beat, that will make you, move your feet.
Can you hear me,jump for joy, makes you happy, girl and boy.
Snap your fingers, shout and wail, pop your clothing, like a sail.
On a ship, on the sea, close together, you and me.
Can you feel it, moving better, as the time, begins to slow.
There is nothing, we can do now, time is up, I have to go.
