SAINT S
These evils called eve
sly as a adder
crafty like the fox,
these eves are evil.
But was Eve evil
like these eves who’re evil
like the devil.
Is the devil more
evil than them
for he stays aloft
though with cunning
he peddles his wares
to the unwary lost
and these he makes
transgressors. But
these Eves who’re evil
stalk and prey
like the one who is evil
making placid the valiant
making wanton the lusty
making weak the strong
are they really evil
for they thus ensnare
the dogs who to
the whistle of the
game-man listen not
much much in a hurry
they trail the Eves
who are evil
much much in a hurry
they are to get a crescendo
in diving and plunging
in downward thrusts
through the flapping floppy folds
minding not the evils
thereof from within
the channels of the swim.
Are these Eves evil then
as the preys are not
like unwilling to fling?
To paint the scene
is to pursue
in vain the goose
of the wild;
it is as it is
these Eves are evil.
If evils are Eves
or Eves are evil
it is as it is
these Eves are not saints.
