    Poem Commentary

    This is from a philosophical thought flow... With a little adjustment.... Still working on Part two.

    The gods must be crazy (1)

    The gods must be crazy (1)
    (The Flora)

    The gods must be crazy

    to have let the Sun shine

    and let the rains follow

    both down unto the ground

    to dry and drench later

    the ground under them.

    From these two from above

    and from the ground below

    sprout and spring in spring

    flora in flourishing variety.

    The same Sun with the same rain

    nurture together the chilli and the cherry;

    one bitter, the other sweet,

    the lil’ mushroom and the towering oak;

    the sweet mushroom along its poisoned toadstool cousin;

    the creeping creepers of poison mingling

    with the nourishing crawling melons….

    The sugarcane grows, same with the bitter leaf

    spewing forth different juices….

    one sweet, the other bitter,

    Some come with aesthetics and splendor

    others in lack-luster’d décor.

    Like the coral flower and the corpse flower.

    Oh! So many issues… and many more issues

    clashing by their clandestine whim,

    the caprice of the gods…

    So many issues

    in my upstairs… clashing,

    now they are making me crazy

    the gods are making me crazy

    as I try to fathom their vicarious designs….

    (To be continued…)

    Wow, this was quite a write, with all the contrastions you provided. Thanks for the words, keep on writing.

    I like the way life of every variety is juxtaposed in this, and the way we can relate it people in the same way. I also like the use of the words "issue" in that there can be double meanings in that as well. I think some words were overused, specifically "bitter" and "ground" - it's not that they are bad words but you can find others that are just as good that would make this a little more varied in word choice. (I always thought of chili pepper as more spicy?) Sour is a good word too. The ending I wasn't too sure about, especially since it is a cliff hanger. Even still, this is better than 99.9% of the poems out there. I like the flourishing feeling it invokes and the variety it includes. My girlfriend is trying to talk to me so now I think I'm repeating myself too . . . well done Vincenzo!
